Elections in 2021 to look out for

2021 is still an election year! From special house elections to gubernatorial races, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

2021 is still an election year! From special elections for seats in the United States House of Representatives to gubernatorial races, there are plenty of ways to get involved on a campaign this year. Although presidential elections get the most attention, legislative and city elections are more likely to have a direct impact on voters. Volunteering is an important way to remind voters that there are still elections going on while providing them valuable information they need to make an informed decision.

This list will continue to evolve as the year goes on, so be sure to check back in! Or follow us on social media to stay in the loop.

The Biden administration has tapped three House members to take on positions in the White House. Louisiana, New Mexico, and Ohio will be holding special elections to fill those seats.

Louisiana special election - March 20th

Former Louisiana Representative Cedric Richmond’s seat opened up when he left to serve the Biden administration as Director of Public Liaison and Senior Advisor.

Ohio special election - May 4 (most likely)

Representative Marcia Fudge was nominated by the Biden administration to serve as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Once nominated, the state will announce the date for the special election.
